Shrikhande  is  Professor of  Surgery  and  Head of Gastrointestinal  and  Hepato Pancreato Biliary  Surgical  Service  and  also  the  Convener  of  the    GI \u2013 Disease Management Group at the Tata Memorial Center in Mumbai, India. He has received specialist training in Pancreatic Research and Pancreatic Surgery at the University of Bern, Switzerland and the University of Heidelberg, Germany. Apart from having published over 110 clinical and basic science papers in leading journals, Dr. Shrikhande has given live operative demonstrations on pancreatic, gastric and colorectal cancer. In addition, he has contributed over 40 book chapters and is the Chief Editor of the books \u201cSurgery of Pancreatic tumors\u201d and \u201cPancreatic Cancer: Current Understanding\u201d. To promote awareness on pancreatic tumors in Asia, he founded the website www.pancreaticcancerindia.com . He is also on editorial and review boards of many international journals.
